Gift Box For Teacher Tutorial

5.12.2015

IT'S HERE!  IT'S HERE!  Haha...I feel like a little kid inside a candy store surrounded with sweetness!   When I realized what was waiting in the mailbox for me Monday afternoon, I did a happy dance!  My prize for winning a trivial question earlier this month on Passionate Paper Creations Facebook group where C.C. Designs Rubber Stamps was the sponsor of the question!  It was my first win!  I've never win anything before so this is super awesome!  Here's what greeted me so happily yesterday!

I can't tell you how excited I was that these goodies arrived yesterday, just in the nick of time for me to craft our gifts for our son's 2 amazing, passionate Pre-Kindergarten teachers since his graduation is this Thursday.  Or, as my husband put it, "it's not a graduation.  He's just moving from Pre-Kindergarten to Kindergarten!"  Haha.  Does this sounds like anyone hubby?

I didn't wait any time.  The moment we put our kids to bed, I raced down to my craft-room and just went on a crafting joy ride and created this first gift box using 3 of the 5 items in the prize package: Pollycraft Brains rubber stamp, Doodlebug Design school 6x6 paper pad and C.C. Designs school supplies dies.  Oh! Isn't it cute?

To create the box, I used the paper pad and the following supplies from my existing collection.  The circle dies are from Impression Obsession and the curve scissor is a sewing scissor which I'd highly recommend for ease of trimming curve areas of your images.  I used the circle to seal the inside of the box and lid.

Now, let's meet this adorable, cute little guy Brains, a Pollycraft rubber stamp!  I tried to colored him to look more like my little guy, Matthew by giving him the black hair.  And according to Matthew's teachers, he is the only 5 years old in his class that can read independently.  So I guess he is sort of a Brain.  Proud mommy here!  *blush*

To bring Brain to life, I colored him with the following copic markers.

And here's the coloring for the apple-worm:

Now what would go perfectly with a Brain?  A clipboard of course!  Here's how I create the 3-D for the clip.

Pardon my terrible handwriting!  This handwritten teacher sentiment was a quote I found by Googling "teachers quotes."  There are so many beautiful teachers' quotes out there but this one caught my attention.  I then stamped the "Thank You" sentiment on the bottom of page before adhesive it to the lid's top next to Brain.  Here's the front box view.

Oh I had so much fun creating this gift box with my prize's goodies!  I can't thank Passionate Paper Creations facebook group enough for throwing the party and for C.C. Designs for sponsoring this trivial question round!  And THANK YOU! for this amazing prize goodies!  I can't wait to get started on creating another project but this time using the Book Abigail rubber stamp that came in the package!
