Happy Birthday Jake!

5.09.2015

Hi crafty friends!  Just dropping by for a quick post before I log off for Mother's Day.  Meet Grant, a Pollycraft rubber stamp. I made this card for my friend's son, Jake who just celebrated his big 3rd birthday earlier today.

I colored Grant with copic markers.  Then I drew out the sidewalk, colored in the grass, fuzzy cut out and mounted with foam adhesive to the base card.

Supplies:
 Darice "Happy Birthday" embossing folder
Cloud Dies - Impression Obsession

I colored the pennant die (Taylored Expressions) with copic markers.

For the background grass I used Cable Knit Embossing Folder - Taylored Expressions and Grass Border Dies - Impression Obsession (turning it upside down).

Since Jake turned 3, I thought it would be cute to randomly scribble the number "3" on the present.  For the inside, I stamped "Happy Birthday" sentiment and wrote him a cute Dr. Seuss' birthday poem.

As always, thanks for stopping by and sharing your day/night with me. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

  1. This card is so adorable and I simply love how you did the grass! Did you color all then dab all over?

    1. Thanks Rannah! The grass around the sidewalk was done in 3 different green colors using copic markers. For each colors I just give a gentle stroke with the tip of the brush upward....I start with the darkest shade first and then fill in between gaps with the next color, 2 shades lighter than the previous shade. Hope this helps.
