My First Design Team Post!

A happy Monday greetings to you dear friends! I hope your weekend was a relaxing one. It gives me great pleasure to announce that I am now on the Design Team for the Outlawz Monday Greetings Challenge, which means new card every Monday from me. Oh what fun! Won't you come along and join me?

What better way to kick start off my first week as the new DT than that with my all time favorite theme -Anything Goes!

A quick few rules for those new to the challenge:

The sentiment must appear on the front of the card or project to be eligible.
Non-card project acceptable as long as the sentiment is visible on the outside
An image is NOT required on your card
1 entry per week only

Our lovely sponsor for this week is Deedee's Digis. Oh I have so much fun working with this cute butterfly from the Bugs & Blooms set!  I love butterflies and this has got to be the CUTEST digi critter I've ever seen!  Don't you agree?  I hope you'll swing over to Deedee's shop and take a look at  her amazing digis and grab a couple for yourself.  Digis are so much fun to work with and great for the wee ones too!  I should know for whenever I do craft projects with my kids, I grab for my digis.

I framed the turquoise cardstock (from my stash) and orange pattern paper (from the Bugs & Blooms set) onto the base-card using Lil' Inker Designs' dual dotted rectangle dies.

Whenever I see butterflies, a garden comes to mind.  So I decided to create a flower garden for this little critter using the digi floral pattern paper from the set and popped the white fence (Memory Box) over it.  It has been a while since I work with this die fence.  So nice to pull it out again.

Oh do I just love snipping out images with my scissor!  But to get this precise cutting right to the ink, I used these two tools: craft knife and a mini curve sewing scissor.  The curve scissor is a must have for that ease of cutting around curve areas like these antennas.

The sentiment on my sun, also from the set, I cut out using Spellbinder's classic circle and colored in with Copic.  Next, for the "ray," I cut out stripes from the left-over pattern paper and adhesive to the back with double-size adhesive.  This is a great way to add some element of fun to the card while clearing out your stash at the same time!

Copic colors combo:

bug: E50, Y32, Y21, BG01, B00, B000
bug's nose and antennas: Black 110
sun: Y00, Y17, Y15
flower: Y00, Y17, Y15, Y13 and outline petals in W00 for shadow

I do hope you can come join us in this week Anything Goes fun challenge.  It would be so lovely to see you and your amazing creations in our Outlawz Monday Greetings challenge group!

Thank you so much friends for sharing your day with me.  Please swing back on by tomorrow, Tuesday  September 1st, for a FUN tutorial on how to create a "Color Me and Snack Me" Milk Carton.
