Masking With Digital Stamp + Wedding Anniversary Card

8.04.2015

Hello sweet friends!   Can you believe how fast time flew?  Nine years ago from tomorrow, August 5th, in the presence of our Lord, families and friends, my sweet hubby and I said our "I DO!"  This is my anniversary card for my DH and I want to share it a day early since I will be logging off from blogging and spend last minutes summer fun with my kids before they resume school in 2 weeks!

I want to recreate a fond memory piece from our Hawaii honeymoon trip.  So I combined digi image Tiddly Inks' You and Me  with MakeItCrafty's Enchanted Waterfall  digi.

I should have used white card-stock for my base layer rather than the black for better visual of the embossing detail which I used the Dotted Lattice from Taylored Expression.

Recreating the scene

To recreate the scene, I first reformatted the waterfall image in Paint software by erasing out the area where the couple image would go and save it as a temporary image.  Next, I pulled in the couple and the reformatted waterfall image into Microsoft Word.  Finally, I added a text box on the front of the rock and typed in my sentiment.  Saved and print.  Here are the steps:

How to make photo corner

Using Spellbinders Nestabilities Template 7 Classic Squares, I used the two smallest square to create the photo corner inserts.  Here's the steps and a better view of what the dotted lattice embossing texture looks like which I also used on the base layer.

Copic Color Combo/Materials Used:

skin: E21, E50, E51
lady's clothing: RV000, RV02, RV10, RV11
man's clothing: E41, E42, E44, E50, E84, W00, W1, W2
shoes: E41, E42, E44, E50
hair: copic mutli-liner pen 0.3 tip
plants: E21, E24, E84, RV000, RV11, RV13, YG000
tree: YG000, G21, G24, Foliage G48
waterfall/water: B000, B32, B34
rocks: N0, N2, N4, E30, E31, E33, E44

Base-card layer:
embossed the black and turquoise card-stock with Taylored Expressions' Dotted Lattice

Photo corner inserts:
die cut, embossed and then mounted with mounting tapes

Other accessories:
Sizzix Big Shot, score-board, paper trimmer, double-sided adhesive

I will be back at the end of this month to share a new card. Until then, I wish you and your family a wonderful rest of your summer and happy August friends!

  2. Oh, Christina, happy and blessed anniversary to you and Kan! What a beautiful card you've made - it's absolutely stunning! And how cleverly you added this sweet digi couple to the background scene! And the photo of you and Kan is just so precious and sweet...you look like a very dear and loving couple...always! I wish you continued happiness and am glad you are taking a break and spending the last couple of weeks with the children before school starts...such a wise choice, dear friend. They grow up so quickly. I'll miss you, but I look forward to seeing you again in September. Have a blessed time, sweet friend! And thanks for sharing this lovely card in celebration of your anniversary! Hugs!
