Out-Of-The-Box Technqiue + A Breast Cancer Awareness

Hello! As you know, this month is Breast Cancer Awareness month. During this month we stop to honor love ones who passed away from this disease, send comfort to their family and for the survivors, we spread hope into their heart and celebrate. We celebrate their courage. We celebrate their strength. And we celebrate them - the beautiful women that they are.

This month, there is one breast cancer survivor, a very special woman in my life, that I am celebrating and honoring.  My sweet eldest sister-in-law.  And this purple card featuring the gorgeous Power Poppy's Climbing Clematis digi is my "Keep Climbing" Hope card for her.  I colored with Copic and chose purple for the clematis since it's my SIL's favorite color.

How did I cut around the image...

After I saw how Cheryl Scrivens (CherylQuilts), one of Power Poppy's finest Instant Gardeners Digital Stamps Release design team member cut around her clematis image, I decide to CASE it.  She is also a big fan of fancy frames like me though the one she used for her clematis card is different from mine.  Here I am using Frantic Stampers' Bracket Coved Labels.

The Process

I first cut the outer fancy frame out twice for added depth. Next I cut out the largest inner label by placing the 2nd largest size label inside of the larger one. Finally, using the 2nd largest label, trace and cut around the image. I mounted the outer two layers fancy frames to the lavender cardstock using Elmer's spray adhesive. For the larger label, Tom Bow liquid glue. Finally, for added depth, I mounted the clematis frame on with foam tape.

What you should do

Early detection is the key to curing Breast Cancer. Please do a self check every month and if you're not sure how, please go visit your family physician.

Friends, breast cancer, just like any other forms of cancers take away lives and tear families apart. If you would like to help spread the message of hope and bring comfort to the hearts of those affected by this, please consider participating in the Hope You Can Cling It challenge over at Splitcoaststampers by sending your beautiful cards to the patients and family at the MD Anderson Cancer Center.

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today and perhaps share your comments, thoughts or questions with me before you go. It truly made my day hearing from you!  May you have a lovely weekend!
