Christmas In Two Colors

Hello friends! I hope today find you well and all ready for Thanksgiving which only a few days away. I, unfortunately came down ill last week and were bed rest for a few days. It is so nice to be back on my feet again though I'm not 100% recover yet. Hopefully by Wednesday.  Otherwise this will be one Thanksgiving without any turkey. My sweet hubby is an excellent chef but he has never handled a turkey before. Haha.

First, an overdue warm welcome to some new friends that started following my blog during my absence last week: Carrie Sheridan, Norma (aka PinkBling Crafter) and Teresa Arsenault and my Google+ follower, Jean Chaney.  Welcome friends.  Thank you for blessing my day with your presence.

Now, a brand new challenge over at Outlawz Monday Greetings Challenges Group.  It's Thanksgiving week but yet we're talking about Christmas cards making. This week we want to see ONLY  2 COLORS on your Christmas card. For my card, I chose RED/WHITE, inspired by the yummy candy canes.

We are very grateful to have Lacy Sunshine Stamps as our sponsor for this week.  Lacy Sunshine is known for its beautiful and imaginative digital images, created and hand drawn by the lovely Heather Valentin, a professional artist, muralist and illustrator.  Take this beautiful MELANIE BOO'S - THE CHRISTMAS STAR image here on my card for example.  Isn't her face precious?  Such a beautiful image to spread the joys and peace into the hearts of family and friends this holidays season.

A side view to reveal all the glitters!

Copic markers (see colors combo below)
Texturing: Stickles - white
Glittering: Wink of Stella - RED, YELLOW; Diamond glitters - from StampinUp!
Adhesive: Tombow liquid glue; double side tearable adhesive stripes
Dies cut: snowflakes: Sue Wilson's Festive Collection - snowflakes
Digi image: Lacy Sunshine's Melanie Boo's - The Christmas Star

Card Process:  For me, a holiday card isn't complete without some glitters on. But there's a lot on this one. I first print (on Copic blending paper) and colored the image first with Copic. Then, applied the following WINK OF STELLA, YELLOW for the star and her hair and RED for the red part of her outfit, earrings and berries. The holly got a thin coat of the Tombow liquid glue follow by DIAMOND GLITTERS from StampinUp. For added texture and 3D effect, I added white STICKLES to the outfit's neck-collar, sleeves, falling snow, die cut snowflakes and snowy ground.

The frame around the image was cut by placing two different size rectangle frames, one inside the other. The candy cane stripes base card was created using the Taylored Expressions' Diagonal Stripe embossing folder. Then I carefully brushed the red WINK OF STELLA on the thinner stripes.  Let dry a few seconds before adhesive to the 4.25x5.50 folded card.

The Season's Greetings sentiment is from the Penny Black Brush Pines-Christmas slapstick/cling stamp set which I inked with Memento Tuxedo Black and adhesive to the frame with foam tape.
