White Christmas Cards

Hello! Only four more days until Christmas!  How's your Christmas preparation coming along?  Have you got all your shopping done and gifts wrapped?  How about those Christmas cards?  If you're still trying to get the last batch out and need some inspiration, come join us over at Outlawz Monday Greetings!  We have ton of inspiration for you with this week brand new theme: "Inspired by a holiday movie!"

Here are my two cards, same design layout, inspired by the movie White Christmas using this gorgeous image calls "Princess of snowflake."

Supplies List

Digi Image: Art by Miran Princess of snowflake
Embossing Folder: Darice 4.25x5.75 Snowflake
Glitters: StampinUp Dazzling Diamond glitter (on the fir trees), clear wink of stella (on hair, clothes and snowflakes)
Embellishment: rhinestones on snowflakes and tiara
Adhesive: Tombow liquid adhesive, adhesive roll
Wood mount stamp: Season's Greetings sentiment
Carstock  from my stash

Card #1:

I colored Princess of snowflake with Copics with skin tone combo E21, E02,E00,E000, RV000,R10, RV10.  It's hard to see all the glitters and sparkles but there's a ton - on fir trees, hair, gown and even on the embossed snowflakes layer.

Card #2

I used the same skin tone combo, but this time I applied another layer to get a darker tone, changed the blush color to R000 and R11 and gave her a more natural look by not applying any blue eye shadow.  Her hair and gown was also tone down to a lighter shade.  If you notice, I also trimmed the bottom of her gown differently than in card #1 and added a border below her gown, which is actually a birch tree laying down.

Guest DT at Without Words

Greetings friends, thanks for stopping by!  Today is a bittersweet day for Squirrel and her lovely DT over at Without Words Challenge.  After three years of fun CAS (clean & simple) challenges, Without Words will be shutting down comes December 31st.  I was quite sad when Squirrel first shared the news with me.   I love creating CAS cards and had so much fun participating in many of their challenges.  Though all good things must eventually comes to an end, I wasn't about to miss out playing in this last challenge.   So when Squirrel asked if I could join them again as guest designer for this one final challenge, I replied YES! in a heartbeat.  I hope you can come join me over at Without Words and wish Squirrel and her lovely DT all the best and best of luck wherever their new adventure may take them.

The theme for this final month challenge is...Christmas ("Feeling Festive")

For my guest designer project, I am using this rubber stamp image from LOTV calls "Lots of Letters." Aren't these children adorable! Not to mention that little cute dog in his sweater!

rubber stamp: LOTV' Lots of Letters; Power Poppy's Poinsettia stamp set
Die cut: Lil'Inkers Dual Stitched Rectangle Frames
Copic markers
Copic blending paper
pigment pen - white
sponge dauber
Versa Magic Ink Pad - Sea Breeze

When I first saw this adorable children image, I knew I got to have it! This image reminds me of one of the happiest, favorite things that we love doing together with our children during this holiday season - the trip to the post office and getting all those wonderful gifts and greeting cards out to families and friends in time for Christmas.

How The Card Made

First, I opened up Microsoft Word and dragged in the image.  Resize, print and colored it with Copics.

Then I used the stitched rectangle die frame to cut it out and sponged the sky on with a sponge dauber and Versa Magic' Sea Breeze ink. I randomly scatter dots with white pigment pen to create the falling snow.

Next, I stamped on the sentiment from the Power Poppy's Poinsettia clear stamp set with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

For the finishing textured touches, I applied white Stickles to the snow on the mailbox, ground area near the children's shoes and on the white part of the girls' coat and hats,

Please come join me over at Without Words Challenge for this last final challenge and wish Squirrel and the DT best of luck in their next adventure.

Thanks so much for stopping by today and perhaps share your comment with me before you go. It's truly a joy hearing from you.  I'm happy to help answer any questions you may have. So please don't hesitate to e-mail me.
