Hello dear fellow crafters, bloggers and friends.

Another year has gone by and a new one will soon begin. What a joy it has been sharing projects ideas with you! Thank you for allowing me to be part of your creative journey this year and for your support of my blog.  I am also very thankful and honor to have come to know many of you on a personal level and be blessed with your friendship. I couldn't ask for a better Christmas gift than that!

I will be taking time off from blogging between now until January 16th to spend the holiday with family and friends as well work on invitations for my two oldest kiddos' upcoming birthday next month.  I also have something fun planned for you in the months ahead as well  :)

I wish you and your love ones a happy holidays and to all my Christian friends, a very Merry Christmas!  Blessing to you in the coming new year.

2016 Holiday Cards - The Final

1.  Leaping Deer Kraft Holiday Card with Distress Inks Blending Background

I didn't get a chance to share this card until now as it was finished Monday evening.  I framed the card first with the SugarPea Designs' Zig Zag Stitched Rectangle frames on kraft.  Next, I ink blended the background with distress inks.  For the stars, I mixed Copic opaque white with a bit of water onto the acrylic block. Then splattered the mixture onto the background by flicking the tip of a paint brush against the acrylic block. Next, I dies cut out the Essential by Ellen- Leaping Deer on white cardstock, rubbed it with the Tonic Moonstone Nuvo Glimmer paste, added a dies cut bow to its neck and then adhered to the ink blending background.  The sentiment is from the Mama Elephant Clear Stamp Set-Jingle Greetings. I heat embossed with the Ranger Embossing Powder-Sparkling Black.

2. Ornament On Branch Holiday Card

Remember these two cards?  I shared these cards last week along with a tutorial on how to draw your own evergreen branches HERE.

3. Partial Folder Style Card - Gift Card Holder

This is a gift card holder style card which I shared yesterday, Christmas Eve and it featured the colored digi version of my ornament on tree drawing. Due to poor printing setup quality, the color turned out much darker than the original coloring.  Inside I created  a partial folder to hold gift card which I also shared a tutorial on HERE

4. Gold Embossed Holiday Card w/ the Tim Holtz' 2016 Doodle Greetings #1

I didn't get to share this one as well.  I used the same Tim Holtz' 2016 Doodle Greetings #1 cling rubber stamp set from the previous card above to create a bunch of these quick and simple cards, embossed with the gorgeous gold Ranger embossing powder. Just look at how beautifully the powder melted and show off against the white cardstock! This is by far my most favorite gold powder!

5. Kids' Holiday Cards For the "Hug A Heart" Holiday Cards Drive

This first six I got the children involve and we had so much fun along the way.

And the final six, featuring my "A Snowman's Heart" image.

How To Make A Partial Folder Style Card Gift Card Holder

12.24.2016

Hello!  It's Christmas eve.  Have you got all your Christmas cards mail out and gifts shopped yet?  I am late again this year and didn't get my cards (all 50 of them) mail out until two days ago.  But thanks to online shopping, I managed to have gifts shipped to our out-of-town little nieces and nephews last week.  But for the college age nephew and first year medical student niece, they appreciate gift cards much more.  So I send them gift cards instead, tucked nicely in this partial folder style kraft card.  Now, whether or not they will received by Christmas, that's a different story.  Haahaa.

If you need last minutes gift idea, how about tucking a gift card in one of this partial folder style card?  Here is how to make one.

How To: Partial Folder Style Card Gift Card Holder

Materials:

8 1/2 x 11 cardstock
Scoreboard
Paper trimmer
Scissor

Instructions:

1.  Trim the cardstock to size 8 3/4" by 7".

2.  Position the cardstock (with the 8 3/4" going across) on the scoreboard. Score down at the 1/8" (or 0.125), 4 1/4" (or 4.25) and 8 5/8" (or 8.625).

3.  Turn the cardstock around (with the 7" going across), score down at the 5 1/2" mark (or 5.50) up to the vertical 4 1/4" mark. Trim off the remaining.

4.   Now fold inward and adhere at the 1/8" and 8 5/8" scored marks.  Trim off the corner like show in the template below.  The length of your paper size now change from 8 3/4" to 8 1/2".

5.  To create the pocket, fold inward at the 5 1/2" scored mark and adhere just the outer right edge.

Your card should now look like this.  On the other side I decorated with the ever so gorgeous Tim Holtz 2016 Doodle Greetings #1 cling rubber stamp, heat embossed with the Ranger Gold embossing powder. Isn't this gold embossing powder gorgeous? I have tried so many different gold powders and this is by far my most favorite! Just look at how beautifully it melted and show off on this white cardstock!

Now fold over at the 4 1/4" scored mark.  You now got your A2 size card (or 4.25 x 5.50).  That's it!  You're done.  Here is the front of this card.

Gift Card Idea: Partial Folder Card

I have shared two cards of this similar image in last week post with a tutorial on how to draw your own evergreen branch.  This design is one of 12 I sketched out with distress ink markers.  But this one is actually a digi copy of the original.

I scanned the drawing into my laptop and converted to digi.  The colors converted correctly.  But for some reason it printed out much darker.  I might have to try a different printer setting next time.  But I think it still turned out beautifully.  Don't you?

I would like to share my card in this week challenge fun over at Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Make It Sparkle.  My sparkle are the GOLD Ranger embossing powder on the Tim Holtz 2016 Doodle Greetings #1 for the inside of the card and the Tonic Moonstone Nuvo Glimmer paste over the ornament on the front of the card.

Thank you for joining me.  May you have a blessed Christmas week.  Happy Holidays!

A Snowman's Heart Holiday Cards For "Hug A Heart" Card Drive + A Freebie

12.18.2016

Hello and welcome!  Today I have six holiday kid cards featuring my image "A Snowman's Heart" to share with you.  These cards were made for my "Hug A Heart" Holiday Cards Drive for kids which ended on December 10th.  The sentiment on the heart varies on the cards.  All supplies used here will be list at the end of the post, linked to the shops where I purchased them from.

For the first card I kept it clean, simple and quick with a little white winter scene.  I colored the snowman with Copic markers, gave it a red nose with the Tonic Autumn Red Nuvo Crystal Drop and added Ranger Stickles Frosted Lace to the white part of the cap.   Then added falling hearts to the background by rubbing the Tonic Moonstone Nuvo Glimmer Paste over a stencil I made with the Simon Says Stamp Falling Hearts Dies.  Next, I dies cut out the Impression Obsession evergreen trees and the IO Fir Sprig dies set on white glitter paper and adhere to the card with craft foam.  Then I completed the scene by adding on the white glittering stitched hill with the MFT Stitched Basic Edges

I continue with the clean and simple look for my second card.  But this time I water-colored the background digitally around the image first.  Then pulled the image into Microsoft Word, resized and printed out 4 images on one sheet.  Next I colored the snowman with Copic markers.  Then dies cut out with the Sugar Pea Designs Zig Zag Stitched Frames and adhere it to the white card base, which was embossed with the Spellbinders Ripples embossing folder.  Finally, for a little glittering sky, I first added the Ranger Stickles Frosted Lace to the falling snow, allow to dry before rubbing on over the painted background with the Tonic White Blizzard Nuvo Glitter Drops.

I used the extra images to create two more simple cards.  First I adhere a 4.25x5.50 white Sugar Pea Designs Zig Zag Stitched Frames to the base card.  I then layered on an inner frame with the Lawn Fawn's Merry & Bright Plaid Designs 6x6 paper pad.  Next I adhere the MFT Die-namics Stitched Oval Scallop Edge Frames around the image.  Then complete the card by adding falling snow with Ranger enamel accent.  I made a boo-boo with the card on the left, so I covered it up with the blue enamel embellishment.  Haa-haa.

Finally, I made two shaker cards which you can see the basic tutorial here.  I first adhere a 4.25x5.50  Sugar Pea Designs Zig Zag Stitched Frames to the base card.  Then for the shaker layer, I used the Lawn Fawn's Merry & Bright 6x6 paper pad for the card on the left and the Lawn Fawn's Lucky Print 6x6 paper pad for the card on the right.  For the window, I covered it with a piece of cellophane from recycled cardstock packaging.  I like to recycle products packaging and put them to good use.  Doesn't the snowman look very happy with all the beautiful Pretty Pink Posh Seed Beads?  I think I  put way too much for the green card.
