Tutorial | A Side Step Card

2.08.2016

Hello friends and a lovely day to you!  I hope you have had a wonderful weekend.  The weather was quite nice here my part of town, as if spring has arrived early.  We spend most of our weekend taking family strolls and enjoying the great outdoor.
Seasons come and seasons goes. But for me, spring is my favoritest. Spring represents new life, new hope and new beginnings. The warm sunlight awakens the sleepy Earth, melting away the gloom of winter. There is nothing more cheerful than seeing budding trees give rise to vibrant flowers and birds greeting the day with joyful tunes. But the most miraculous sight of all is seeing a new fawn taking its first steps alongside its mother! This is why I love springtime so much
So today's card is a Spring theme Side Step card (with a tutorial below) using the "Five Little Froggies" digital stamp image from Robyn's Fetish Digital Stamps & More.  Aren't the smiles on these froggies just warm your heart?   We have quite a few froggies in our backyard pond though they don't look quite as cute as these little froggies!  Haahaa.

About The Card

This is a 4.25x5.50 Side Step card. I started first by creating the side step card base. The frame part of the card is 3.50 x 4.25.  Next, I opened up Microsoft Word (version 2013), pulled in "Five Little Froggies" image and resized to 3.25 inch in height.  Then print on copic blending paper.

The image was colored with copics. I then sponged with distressed ink a jungle green on the ground for the grass bed as well in between each steps for the shadow effect.

I used the following dies to decorate the steps:
Impression Obsession Dies:  two Reading Tree were cut from two different shade of green cardstock;  Tiny Flowers were cut from different color cardstocks and adhesive randomly onto the trees with glossy accents;  in between each steps I adhesive a bunch of Grass Border using two different shade of green cardstock.
The white Arbor Fence is from Taylored Expressions.  The sentiment is n old digi stamp which I can't recall from where.

  12. I love the frogs...I even went to the site to purchase them. My husband is a great fan of frogs and would make a nice card for him. I've done this step fold before but you were a lot more creative with the steps than I was. Great card.
