Eight For The Boys + Hug A Heart Card Drive

Hello and welcome!  Have you take part in the Hug a Heart Card Drive Blog Hop yet?  If not, there's still time.  The last day of the hop is February 8th.  One random winner of a $25 Simon Says Stamp gift certificate (personally donate by me) will be announced right here on my blog on Friday, February 10th at 8 am EST.   You must leave a comment on ALL blogs that participate in the hop in order to be eligible for the drawing.   To join in the hop, please see my blog post HERE.

For today's project, I have a set of eight quick and simple masculine cards to share with you, using all brand new products I've recently purchased - Simon Says Stamp Floating Hearts Craft Dies with the Art Impressions Panda Slider set.  This post is also part of the Hug a Heart Card Drive for heart patients at Nationwide Children's Hospital.  The deadline to send in cards is February 14th.  For the complete card guidelines, please see my post HERE.

Eight For The Boys

These eight cards are very easy to make and took me just under two hours.  The longest part was the coloring.  But after that, it simply adhere, adhere, adhere.

I begin by creating my A2 size (4.25"x5.50") card base first using Bazzill cardstock in Robins Egg (blue) and Sour Lemon (yellow).  I absolutely love using Bazzill cardstock as my card base.  It's very steady, 100# heavyweight, super high quality and with a great price tag.

Next, I dies cut out the Simon Says Stamp Floating Hearts Craft Dies (eight times) in Bazzill Marshmallow (white) and adhere to each of the card base with Elmer's spray adhesive.  You can also use double sided adhesive sheet in place of the spray adhesive as well.

This little cutie panda pilot is from the Art Impressions Panda Slider clear stamp and dies set.  I love working with panda images and so when I saw this little guy, I knew I have to bring him home.  This set comes with a cloud and sentiments and actually intend for slider card.  But I decide to just made a regular card with this little guy.

First, I stamp a bunch of the panda onto Copic Xpress paper with the Simon Says Stamp premium intense black dye ink and then color with Copic markers.

Next, I use the coordinating plane dies to cut out the images.  But I didn't like the negative white space around the images.  So I fussy cut that out from the remaining seven images (see below - blue card).  But left the first one as is since I've already adhered it to the card base with foam tape (see above - yellow card)

To complete the cards, I fussy cut out banner flags in Bazzill Sour Grape (purple) and Peppermint (red).  Add various handwritten sentiments on.  Then adhere the banner flags to the card base with foam tape.

I'd like to share my card in the following challenges: SSS Wednesday "Color of Love" Theme and Word Art Wednesday ATG #268-269

I hope you find these set of eight masculine cards inspiring.  Thanks for stopping by my blog today.  May you have a lovely rest of your day.  Take care.
