Jar of Daisies and Hearts Shaker Card + Update: Hug A Heart Card Drive

2.06.2017

Hello and happy Monday!  I hope you have had a fabulous weekend.  Today I have a pretty mason jar shaker card, filled with stitched daises and hearts to share, plus an update on the Hug a Heart Card Drive at the end of this post.

This card is for a teenage heart patient girl and part of the Hug a Heart Card Drive.   I have always love daisies.  They look like bright cheerful little sun, making daisies the perfect flowers to send a little sunshine to brighten someone's day.  It always make me smile whenever I see daisies.  So I hope it will do the same for the teenage girl that will received this card.

Jar of Daisies and Hearts Shaker Card

It was very easy putting this card together.  Here's what I did:

First, I get all my pieces together:
  1. I ink blended the hearts (left over from previous projects) with the Memento Ink Rhubard Stalk (#1 below).

  2. Next, I dies cut daisies from the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Daisies Wafer Dies on Bazzill Marshmallow Chick and ink blended the edges in Wild Honey (#2 below).

  3. The mason jar is from the Papertrey Ink Friendship Jar Shaker Die.  I dies cut it out on Bazzill Marshmallow and ink blended with the Taylored Expressions Cookie Monster ink (#3 below).  Next, I adhere a piece of acetate to the back of the mason jar with double sided adhesive.  Then I adhere foam tape (on top of the acetate) to the left, right and bottom of the mason jar.  But leave the top open for the greenery to come through.

  4. On Bazzill Easter Grass, I dies cut out the bamboo shoot (#4 below) and the stems using MFT Stitched Basic Edges (#5 below).

Next, I create my A2 size card base (4.25"x 5.50") with Bazzill Marshmallow and embossed the card front with the Papertrey Ink Woodgrain Impression Plate.   Then I play around with the pieces, deciding where they should go before adhere the bamboo shoot and stems to the card base follow with the daises, mount with foam tape.

Next, I position on the hearts. Then adhere the mason jar over to complete the card.

One last look at the finished card.

Awesome, card, Christina. Love the bright cheery daisies and your shaker card.
Will be such a cheerful gift for a young person in the hospital. I'm so glad that the Hug a Heart Card Drive is starting off so successfully. I hope it ends up over the top of any expectations you may have had. Much time and hard work goes into organizing such an event, you should be proud of your efforts.
