Video | Hydrangea Blooms Thinking of You

Hello! My project today is a set of clean and simple 'Thinking of You' Hydrangea Blooms cards using the beautiful Hydrangea Blooms stamp & die set from Simon Says Stamp with the sentiment from the Papertrey Ink Tucked In: Thinking of You stamp set. The Spellbinder Nestabilities Classic Rectangle LG was also used on this project.

What started out as a project for one card turned into a set of 6. I was having too much fun inking up this beautiful hydrangea blooms that I didn't want to stop!

The MISTI precision stamping tool and my homemade vinyl grid templates made it so easy getting the sentiment perfectly aligned and quickly mass produced of these cards!

HOW TO PERFECT SENTIMENT STAMPING EVERY TIME...

The hydrangea blooms and leaves were stamped with the Simon Says Stamp ink pads Hydrangea and Jellybean onto Bazzill Marshmallow cardstock. Then cut out using the coordinating dies and Sizzix Big Shot die cutting machine.

Assembling pieces:  A2 folded card base (4.25x5.50 finished), A2 panel, hydrangea, leaves and 'Thinking of You' sentiment panel.  The sentiment was stamped with Simon Says Stamp ink pad Intense Black.

HOW TO CREATE A2 (4.25x5.50) CARD BASE:

Take each 8 1/2x11 size cardstock in Bazzill Marshmallow, Bazzill Sour Grape and the Reverse Confetti Piggy Bank and cut in half at 5 1/2".  Then score each half at the 4 1/4" mark using a scoring board and bone fold.

Hello and welcome!  This post is part of a two-day blog hop to celebrate Jo's Scrap Shack's 5th blogaversary, full of inspirational projects and lots of prizes from some amazing sponsors as well blog candy to win along the way.  I am very honored that Jo asked me to be part of her big celebration today!

Beehive Cupcake Birthday

For my part of the hop, I made a birthday card using the sweet beehive cupcake and banner from my newest digital stamp set - Sweet Cupcakes Birthday Bundle.  We have so many birthdays coming up on my inlaw's side.   So I'm saving this sweet card for one of them.

This is my first time coloring up the cupcake as I just finished the drawing on Sunday.  The image was printed on Neenah white 65# with a Canon Color ImageCLASS laser printer - which is compatible with Copic markers.  You can color over the lines and the printer ink would not bleed out.

I used these Copic colors for the beehive (Y13, Y15, Y17, Y19), bees (Y15) and candle (Y11, Y17, YR09, yr15).  The black stripes on the cupcake wrapper were carefully drawn in with the Copic multiliner 0.5 and the Brush M.

The black and white stripes pattern on the side panel was easily done by cutting out just the white strips, 1/4-inch width each.

Here's how I cut and assembled the white strips.  Notice, for each strip I only make partial cut into the cardstock.  Next, I make a slit down the A2 black panel and slide every other strips through the opening (photo 1 below).  Then secured the strips to the back panel with double sided adhesive (photo 2).  Trim off the excess outer strips, fold and adhered to the back panel (photo 3).

The panel then adhered onto the A2 Marshmallow Chick card front.

Inside of card, I cut Neenah white to size 5"x8" and with the MISTI, stamped on the PapertreyInk's Tucked In Birthday sentiment.  Then score, fold and adhered to the inside card.

It's hard to tell from the photo, but I applied LOTS of sparkles on the candle, icing and bees' wings with the Nuvo Glitter Drops.

One final look at the finished card.
