Intricate Dream Wedding Card With Vellum Underlay

Intricate Wedding Card

Hello.  Today I am sharing how you can use intricate die with a vellum underlay to add a striking elegant accent to cards.  This technique is perfect for making wedding cards and invitations.

If you are interested in the supplies used on today's project, please see the SUPPLIES section at the end of this post.

We were in Chicago over Labor Day's weekend for a family's wedding and this was the card for the happy couple.

Jenny and Ryan wedding card 09-03-17

I start by trimming the #110 white cardstock in half to create my A2 white card base first.  Then use the other half to die cut out the flourish frame and label.  Next I stamp the Dream Wedding cake onto the label and colored with Copic.  I absolutely love this Power Poppy's Dream Wedding cake!  So quick to color and the design fits beautifully with the flourish frame and that of the bride's simple elegant style.

Using the flourish frame as a grid, I trace and cut out a piece of vellum and adhere it to the back of the frame.  Flip the frame over and adhere on the colored Dream Wedding cake label.

To complete the card, I randomly adhere on the pearls over the tip of the stitched flourish.  Then pipe the entire cake with Nuvo Glitter Drops (White Blizzard).  Not only does this give off a lovely sparkle to the cake, but a 3-D illusion as well.

TIP:  Be sure to let the glitter drops dried completely before inserting into the envelope.

Have you ever use intricate dies with vellum before?  Please take a moment to share with me in the comment below.

Thank you for stopping by my blog today.   May you have a lovely day ahead.
