– Hi! I’m Christina –
Welcome to my blog! Christina Hor Designs is a hobby blog sharing cardmaking tips & tutorials, fun arts & crafts ideas and my passion project…the year-round Cards for Little Hearts card drive, a worldwide effort to scatter joy, hope & encouragement to children living with congenital heart conditions. I hope to inspire you to join me on this journey.
THERE IS NO BEAUTIFIER OF COMPLEXION, OR FORM, OR BEHAVIOR, LIKE THE WISH TO
– RALPH WALDO EMERSON
My journey as a card maker began in December 2006 after my husband and I received a handmade Christmas card from a friend. My love for handmade cards, arts and the desire to scatter joy and kindness to others led me to start a hobby blog (formally Memories Crafter) in early 2015, sharing card-making tips and tutorials and gradually adding on arts & crafts – many of these projects I create with my three young children.
In May 2015, I joined a group of Heart Center nurses at Nationwide Children’s Hospital (a charity mission I continue to present day) to bring comfort to bereaved parents with personalized, handmade sympathy cards and discovered the deep impact a handmade card can have on the babies’ families, helping them to grieve in a healthy way. Wanting to spread smiles and hope to other heart patients and their families at NCH, on Thanksgiving Day, November 24, 2016, with the assistance of several fellow crafters, I launched the first winter-themed holiday card drive right here on my blog and Cards for Little Hearts (formerly Hug a Heart) was founded. To learn more about the card drive and how you can participate, please visit the official website of Cards for Little Hearts.
When I am not busy running around between kids’ activities, I can be found coloring in my craft-room or with my coffee cup and a good book in beautiful Ohio with my husband Kan (Pediatric Cardiologist at Nationwide Children’s Hospital), two daughters and son.
MY POSTING SCHEDULE & WHAT TO EXPECT
My posting schedule varies month to month. First and foremost I am a mom and life with three, young active children is busy and full of unpredictable moments. I don’t always get the time to sit down to just color or craft on a weekly basis.
I also believe in sharing “quality” contents rather than quantity. So I don’t share every projects I made either. Instead, I share only of projects that I think have a “teachable” topic, inspire you to scatter a bit of joy to someone and ones that might be fun to do as a family so you can create unforgettable memories together.
Please see the DISCLOSURE page for my blog’s terms & conditions.
